I am an international middle distance runner competing for Leeds City AC. I love competing in Cross Country throughout the winter and then focus on the 5000m in the summer. Last year I represented England in Cross Country, Track and Road. My biggest achievements so far have been coming second in the National Cross Country 2016, winning the Northern and Yorkshire Cross Country 2016 and I am currently the English 5000m champion. After having a very successful 2015/2016 I am daring to dream bigger and my future aims are to run for Great Britain this year.
My training in a week usually involves, a track session, a grass session, a long run and a tempo run as well as two to three steady runs in between. I do circuits on a Monday as well as two strength and conditioning sessions a week. I feel like the strength and conditioning and the tempo sessions have been a huge factor in my success this year.
As well as my running, my other passion involves food! I love Oompf Energy products because they use natural ingredients that are full of energy, great for re-fuelling after training and are so tasty! They are great to just pop in my training bag or take to races to ensure I get the nutrition I need.
My aim for 2017 is to run well in my first International Cross Country race for Great Britain in January and hopefully gain further GB selections this year over Cross Country and Track. I would like to try and retain my Northern Cross Country title in 2017 and also gain a podium position at the National Cross Country Championships as I did last year. I have represented England this Cross Country season and I hope to gain further selections over the Cross Country in 2017.
My aims for 2017 Track season are to attempt to gain a qualification timefor the Commonwealth 5000m. This will be a huge challenge but I am excited to see if I can achieve this.
